Underfloor Heating
Electric underfloor heating is a form of Radiant type heating. This type of heating is a gentle comfortable heating that is silent, economical and efficient.
Is it expensive to run?
Take an average bathroom with an area of 2.3 sq. metres to be covered with a heating matt. The mat that is suitable for this area is 2.1 sq. metres and electrical output of this mat is 340W. Therefore the running costs for such a room are less than 5 cent per hour.
Electric underfloor heating systems are suitable for any room within the home, including wet areas such as bathrooms, where ceramic or stone tiles are laid.
The electric heating matts come on mesh sheets which are rolled accross the area to be heated.
Heating matts are available in various sizes covering 0.5 sq. metres to 13.3sq. metres. Heating matts can be added together to create a greater area of coverage.
There is a choice of either an analogue or digital programmable thermostat to accompany the heating matts.
